Australian Labradoodle Guardian Opportunities
How Guardianship Works
We place a dog or puppy with our guardians for a deposit of $1000. We retain breeding rights to the dog and guardians provide a forever home for him or her. The dog will come back to Ivy Hill for breeding and females will return for the whelping and rearing of the puppies. The $1000 deposit is returned to the guardian with birth of the first litter and, for female dogs, the guardian is paid $500 for each subsequent litter. When the dog's breeding career is finished, we will spay or neuter the dog and full ownership is turned over to the guardian. If you live in the Central Indiana, Chicago or Indianapolis area and are interested in guardianship of a dog or puppy, please send me an email with your contact information.
Requirements For Guardian Homes
We carefully select guardian homes for some of our breeding dogs so that they can be loved as the family pets that they are meant to be and join their forever families early in their lives. In order to be considered for guardianship of one of our australian labradoodle dogs or puppies, we require the following:
- You must live within two hours of Lafayette, IN (Central Indiana, Eastern Illinois, Southern Chicago, Indianapolis areas) and not expect to move away from the area before the terms of the contract are fulfilled.
- Be homeowners.
- Have a physically fenced yard.
- Be willing to part with the dog for periods of time for breeding and whelping.
- Allow the dog to live in the house.
- Provide adequate attention, food, excercise and veterinary care.
- Keep in touch with us and respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
- Provide three references and let us come to your home to meet you and see your home and property.
